3 homemade face masks to purify your skin

For clear, glowing skin that's healthy and free of imperfections, look no further than your fridge. A homemade face mask is a great way to get a deep cleanse.

Lemon and yogurt to clarify

Purifying and astringent, lemon is ideal for combination and oily skin: it deep-cleanses and its acidity absorbs excess sebum and helps to clear dead skin. Enriched with lactic acid, yogurt exfoliates, moisturises and smoothes. And all that calcium boosts cell renewal: the perfect thing to achieve a glowing complexion. You'll need: - Juice from half a lemon - Natural yogurt Mix the juice and yogurt together and apply a thin layer to the face; make sure you avoid the sensitive eye area. Leave for three to five minutes. An added bonus with this mask is baby-soft skin.

Green clay to purify

Purifying, mineralising, regenerating and detoxifying; green clay's got it all. It naturally cleans and helps to rid skin of impurities, making it ideal for combination, oily and acne-prone faces. Added vegetable oil moisturises for softer skin. You'll need: - 2 tbsp powdered clay - 1 tsp hazelnut oil - 2 tbsp mineral water Mix the ingredients to a smooth paste and apply a thick layer to the face, avoiding the eyes and lips. If the clay starts to dry out, moisten it with a mist of water. Leave for 10-15 minutes.

Squash and honey to cleanse

Squash stimulates collagen production and fights the appearance of blemishes, while honey aids cell regeneration and brightens the complexion. You'll need: - 1 squash - 1 tbsp honey - 2 drops tea tree oil Mash the squash to a puree. Add the tablespoon of honey, then stir in the tea tree oil. Once the mixture is smooth, apply to the skin and leave for 15 minutes.
