As the name implies, bi-phase cleansers provide two steps in one product: an aqueous and an oily phase. When you shake the bottle, the water and oil mix to create an effective cleanser that will even get rid of waterproof makeup. Its principle is quite simple: the oily phase dissolves makeup whilst the aqueous phase wipes away the oily film, so that our eyes don't end up looking puffy and greasy.

As well as removing stubborn makeup (lipstick, khol/liquid eyeliners), bi-phase cleansers are suited to all skin types, even sensitive skin that can often feel stripped by classic cleansers. There's no need to rub it in, although go easy on your eye contours where the skin is extremely fragile.

how to apply one

Using a bi-phase cleanser is as easy as pie: shake the bottle to mix the oil and water. Apply to a cotton pad and gently smooth across your face. Remember, no need to rub! In one clean sweep, your makeup will be removed, leaving you with squeaky clean, glowing skin. Another plus? There's no need to rinse afterwards. If it does leave a slight oily film, simply wipe this off with micellar or floral water.
